PROTECTING THE INNOCENCE OF CHILDREN ONLINE
MAY 2020 - MAY 2021, SYDNEY, TOWNSVILLE, BRISBANE AND ADELAIDE

This year, Kingdom Care is seeking a grant to enable it implement a project to protect children from harmful Internet content by setting up Internet filtering solutions in the home. In essence, holding the hand of the parents.

This program will assist Kingdom Care to address a gap identified in its Youth and Young Adult programs by dealing with what has been identified as the biggest problem that our organization is dealing with among these young people and their parents, and that is, access of harmful Internet content.

This program aims to achieve the following main objectives:

  • Provide parents with Online Safety Education translated in a language they can understand.
  • Work 1-on-1 with parents to help them achieve a safe Internet in their home.
  • Build capacity within communities for ongoing support in the area of child online safety.

Kingdom Care is applying for the Online Safety Grants administered by the e-Commissioner's office. Watch this space for updates on this program.

MEN'S WEALTH CREATION SEMINAR
FEBRUARY 21 - 23, 2020, TOWNSVILLE, QLD

This seminar achieved the following:

  • Empowered men to think big and focus on wealth creation in addition to employment.
  • Training men in principles of Wealth Creation.
  • Inspiring men to be financially independent.
  • Provided a safe environment for men to connect and discuss challenges and share solutions on issues that concern them.
YOUTH DAY OUT 2019

These day outs are created to encourage young people to get off social media, the Internet, and gaming. These events are fun-packed days, catered for, and organised in collaboration with the youth. Feedback on these events is great and Kingdom Care continues to organise these events multiple times in a year.

WOMEN SEMINAR 2019

Organised yearly, women seminars empower women to live for a purpose and to reach their full potential. These seminars focus on the following:

  • Sharing ideas on how to raise responsible children in the midst of dangers of social media, gaming and the Internet.
  • Health and Exercise.
  • Empowerment through Faith.
​YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SEMINAR 2018

At this seminar youth from across North Queensland came together for an empowerment seminar. This seminar achieved the following:

  • Providing a safe environment for youth to talk about and suggest solutions to the challenges of social media, dangers of the Internet, and pornography in particular.
  • Inspiring youth to live a purpose-filled life.
  • Training youth on time management and priorities amidst social media and Internet device distractions versus school demands.
  • Inspiring young girls to have a high self esteem and to stand up for themselves.
TELSTRA SAFE COMMUNITIES PROJECT 2012

Kingdom Care under the auspices of its sister organisation, Streams International, was a beneficiary in Telstra’s Safe Communities Project. This project aimed at A. The project substantially focused on assisting disadvantaged Australian children and young people (under 24 years) connect to the internet, build their online skills and/or promote cyber safety.
